As the world of social media progresses, so does the science of utilizing it for marketing purposes. It’s important to know statistics such as only 10-13% of your Facebook population sees your actual posts and that is on schedule to drop as low as 1-2% in the near future. Knowing this, it’s more important than ever to have an understanding on how to engage your audience. Below are some recommendations on how to still effectively use social media and not let these changes affect you.
1) Utilize the analytic tools that Facebook and other social media platforms offer in order to get a clear understanding of your audience. The most important pieces to take away from the analytics are who your audience is, what are the busiest times for your Page and what content seems to attract engagement.
2) Cross promote across all social platforms that you are on. Utilize the unique audience you have for each platform and encourage them to follow your brand on the other social platforms.
3) Utilize visuals anytime you can. Visuals have statistically proven to gain more attention compared to a “regular” text post.
4) Utilize the advertising that each platform offers. Social advertising is one of the best advertising opportunities on the market today. They offer a personable approach, can hyper target exactly who you are looking for and it is very cost effective. Advertising will also increase the reach of your content and will be your best tool to make sure your content is being seen.
